Ways to Help

Children of involved parents do better in school and have fewer discipline problems. From sending in Box Tops to serving on the board, the PTO offers lots of ways to get involved.

  • Volunteer at a fun event. Click here to get email about opportunities!
  • Send in Box Tops for Education.
  • Serve on the PTO Board.
  • Help classrooms directly through Teacher Wish Lists or giving trees.

2nd Annual Walkathon is May 10

The second annual Ross Park Walkathon is set for Friday, May 10! This is the PTO's only major fundraiser of the school year, and what a fun, healthy way to raise the money we need to keep serving the school! Pledge forms will go home with kids later; right now we're working on getting sponsors, and we could use your help. If you own or work at a business that could help us, please email Jenny McNeill at For $100, we'll put your name or your business name on the T-shirts everyone will wear during the walkathon; for $500 you get your logo. Donations for prizes also are very welcome. Click here for a copy of our sponsor letter, which you can personalize.

School Year Extended

The last day of school is now scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, one day later than originally planned. Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11-12, will both be half days.

Stay Up to Date This School Year

The PTO newsletter is now being delivered only by email to save printing costs. The school district has graciously agreed to allow us to use its email notification system to send our newsletters, so please be sure the district has your email address. We'll also continue to post our newsletters on this website.

Come Join Us!

We welcome all volunteers and the time they can share. We know the thought of "one more thing to do" on an already busy schedule can be tiring. You'll be surprised at how little it takes to make a difference. Whether you can volunteer a couple hours at an event or commit to being your child's room parent, your time spent impacting the lives of children will be rewarding. Do not hesitate to contact any board members with questions.
